Hello

For those who have the Global Evisceration DVD, would you be able to tell me the name of the track that plays at approximately 03:07 ? It just plays during the intro scene where they are talking about the tour etc, so it's not on the track list. I'm quite unfamiliar with most of CC's later stuff, so it might be obvious to those who do!

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I can't find it on Youtube. In fact I may try to edit my copy and upload the part I'm talking about. I will be back...!

If you're talking about the riff right after :49, that is the opening riff to "A Cauldron of Hate" off Evisceration Plague.

yup, Cauldron of Hate it is...that riff is easy to recognize because it's a complete rip-off of Devourment song Butcher The Weak

The riff you are talking about in "Butcher the Weak" is a filler riff which goes on for approximately nine seconds. Nice try. I'll bet you also think "Elimination" sounds like "Master of Puppets".

well in that case the fact that Cannibal Corpse based an entire song on a stolen "filler" riff makes the matter even worse Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives • View topic (28)

I know I'm straying off topic here, but I seriously cannot believe there are some people who refuse to see the similarity between "Elimination" and "Master of Puppets". OH THE THIRD CHORD IS DIFFERENT AND IT'S IN A DIFFERENT KEY AND BLARGABLARGA and I know Overkill rules and Metallica is lame so therefore implying Overkill did anything similar to Metallica after Metallica did it first is blasphemy to the great UltraBoris in the sky and whatnot, but if you can seriously listen to the two riffs in question and not concede any similarity at all, you are in denial, simple as that.

Why are you assuming it's stolen and not just a coincidence? It's such a small part of the song, I highly doubt most people even realize that riff is there Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives • View topic (36)! Besides, it's not like Devourment haven't borrowed plenty from Cannibal Corpse themselves.

Metallica are not lame.

I thought this thread was about a new CC track by looking at the title briefly. I was disappointed.

You know, the whole "this song sounds like that song" argument never made a lot of sense to me. I think even if only a little bit of a riff is changed, it gives it a new dimension and a new personality. The way the beats are placed, the pace, the octaves, the tones, all that makes a big difference. I could pick up my guitar and start jamming and it would sound like a million Judas Priest and Iron Maiden riffs, that doesn't mean I stole anything.

Also making the point that that riff is only part of a Devourment doesn't state much. It' still a catchy riff and it repeats it's self later on anyways.

Did anyone ever notice how the riff in Carpathian Forest - Sadomasoch*stic is very similar to Bathory - A Fine Day To Die...
